Peabody Memorial Library in Jonesport will be sponsoring a summer series of talks by local authors on Wednesday evenings.
Each presentation will be followed by time for
questions, discussion, and light refreshments.
The events are free to the public and will be offered on the following dates:
July 30: Ruth Cash-Smith of Edmunds will read from her published work, including her anthologized short story "Wild Life." Ruth's latest book is "The Graphic Designer's Guide to Better Business Writing" at 6pm.
August 13: Sherry Christie of Jonesport, a freelance writer, will discuss and read from her epic historical novel of the Roman Empire. Sherry's latest book is "Making Your Company Human: Inspiring Others to Reach Their Potential" at 6pm.
August 27: Hubert Kueter of Oakland, Colby College profesor emeritus and author of the memoir "My Tainted Blook" at 6pm.
September 10: Richard Miles of Harrington, whose poetry has been in 'The New Yorker', 'Harpers', and 'American Poetry Review' will be reading from his book Boat of Two Shores. Miles is a stone mason and sculptor and will be sharing images of his sculpting that correspond with his poetry at 6pm.
September 24: Kelly Cunnane of both Jonesport and Beals, is a children's author and personal essayist who writes of experiences with Kenya. Her children's book For You Are A Kenyan Child won the Ezra Jack Keats Award and the Maine Lupine Award 07 for most outstanding multicultural picture book. Event takes place at 6pm.
