The Jonesport Historical Society was formed on August 18, 2003 as a non-profit corporation by a group of Jonesport townspeople. The chartered purpose of our organization is to establish, operate, maintain and perpetuate the society for the preservation of the history of Jonesport, Maine: thus, our motto, “Preserving Our Heritage”. We currently have over 175 members.
Our public meetings are scheduled for the 4th Thursday of each month from February through November at 6:30 p.m., either at the Peabody Memorial Library on Main Street or at the Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church on Sawyer Square. All are welcome.
