Featuring  paintings & photoraphs by 31 area artists.   Exhibit runs to Dec 2.

Scarecrows, or perhaps even better-named "scaregulls" are well known in Washington County.  We often see them swaying in the wind in the ripening blueberry fields.  The working "scare" devices include the traditional scarecrow--perhaps with flapping pie tins or other clatter devices to frighten critters and birds--and the round ball with the eyeballs looking in all directions.  .

Submission Requirements

Eligibility:  Artists must reside full or part time in our free library area which includes Jonesport, Beals and Addison.  One artist from outside this area will be selected  per show to be our special guest artist.

Art work:  Must be two dimensional, be original, no copies from other artists or publications..   Work must be labeled on the back with name, phone number and address, title, medium and price, if for sale.

Work must be suitably framed.  Watercolor and photography must be matted and under glass or plexi glass.  All work must be WIRED.  No saw tooth hangers.  

Size:  You may submit two works measuring under 20X20 or one if work is larger.  Works over 30X36 over all are not recommended and will be used on a space available basis only.

Publication:  Submission of your work automatically constitutes your authorization for us to use your art work for the purpose of press and promotional releases for our exhibit.  To be included in our brochure please submit a biography 30 days prior to turn in date.  

Fee:  There is no entry fee.  We would however appreciate a 10% donation from all sales to help defray our expenses in displaying the art.

Turn in Dates:  Work must be submitted and picked up between 12 - 2 p.m.   Jan 29, 2008, April 1, May 27,, July 29, Sept 30, 2008, Dec 2.    We do not have storage space, a fee will be charged for work not picked up.  I am sorry we cannot ship.
